Our People

A UYA member is your every day Armenian young person who has the required national awareness, has recognized the need for a change, and most importantly has taken an affirmative step towards bringing about that change.
We are made up of educated & professional young people who on a daily basis invest their valuable time, energy, and resources for the sake of the collective good.
Our members are truly the greatest asset and the secret of success of the Unified Young Armenians (UYA). This is becuase our members are dedicated, trustworthy, and knowledgable visionaries who firmly believe in what they do. If anyone doubts that, please take a moment and view the video below. This video is dated February 27, 2010, the anniversary of the Sumgait massacres. On that day, which was registered as one of the rainiest and coldest days in California, the members of UYA, stood firmly and informed the world about the injustices done to the Armenian people who lived in Azerbaijan.

We are sure that you agree with us! Our members are our greatest asset!
We came together initially to fight for human rights. We firmly believe that it is the youth who can make a difference in this age of media and information. For 10 years, we fought against historical injustices (example, Armenian Genocide recognition), and current disasters (example, Ganocide in Darfur, Sudan). While much more work is needed to be done still, we have achieved great success. We have involved over 500 young people in our quest for justice, giving them a voice on such important issues. We mobilized and united the community for collective action. And we pledge to remain true to our ideals and continue serving the public, because that is why we are here.
It was our dream to give the Armenian children the right to learn their language, history, and culture for free. We made that reality through hard work and dedication. While the instruction is conducted by professional teachers, our members have invested hours and hours of time in assisting with the learning process. We believe in the power of the common language, history, and culture in creating a strong nation.
